AN EXERPT FROM JUANITA'S BOOK 'ALWAYS IN A CROWD'.....
When I was around five and a half years old I was in hospital and this is one experience I had...........
I was awoken by a misty figure at the foot of my bed. It was a lady and she was pointing to a bed over in the opposite corner from mine. She appeared to be dressed in a nightie but I could see right through her. She had a wrinkled face and looked quite haggard and stick-thin. She was almost hag-like in her appearance. In years to come, I would not be so frightened of them and their appearance as they would always change to reflect the time of their lives they loved the most. No longer hag-like, but beautiful once their message had been received and passed on. I was terrified, I didn't understand what she wanted and she became agitated and came closer to me. I screamed, nurses came running and suddenly, I was surrounded by staff. I was by this time crying and trying to tell them to make the lady go away. No one understood but all thought I'd just had a nightmare. It was only when I yelled at them to look at the bed in the corner that eventually one young nurse thought she'd humour me, and prove to me that there was nothing to be frightened of so she walked over to the bed. The next thing I knew, everyone was still, then whispering to each other, then the curtains were pulled around the bed in the corner and then pulled around my bed, and I was left alone. It was some time before anyone came back to me, and it was only to turn off my light and tell me to go to sleep. The nurse was nervous and wouldn't touch me or my bed. She wouldn't even pull the sheets up. She backed out of the room and I went back to sleep. When I awoke in the morning the curtains were pulled back, the next shift of nurses was on and everything seemed back to normal, well almost. The bed in the corner opposite me was empty. When I asked where the lady was, I was ignored and the subject changed. I was never given a straight answer.
For many nights, I experienced the same thing; misty shapes, male and female at the end of the bed pointing to a bed in the room...............
